Reading

• CUSP Reading is used across all year groups in the school.
• Phonics is taught using Sounds Write through Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
• In Key Stage 1 we use the Sounds Write books to support the teaching of reading and phonics. From Year 2 upwards, we also use Accelerated Reader (utilising the books we have across the school) to assess reading.

Writing

• CUSP Writing is used for the teaching of writing across all year groups in the school.
• Reception children’s early writing is supported during phonics lessons and continuous provision.
• Kinetic Letters is used to empower children to write confidently with fluent, legible handwriting.
